The Healthcare Advocacy Award is presented to an individual, organization or entity that is an effective advocate at the local, state or national level concerning issues such as, but not limited to, access to care for all patients regardless of ability to pay, and initiatives that support healthy lifestyles and improved health in their communities.
This year's recipient was Dr. O'Tayo Lalude. Dr.Lalude, a nationally recognized expert and member of the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Physician Group. He has responded to the urgent need for diabetes management and prevention in the high-risk West Louisville population. The Center minimizes the chances for the negative health consequences from diabetes in the at-risk population, and provides training for health professionals in a range of educational and diagnostic criteria.
